Bobber OTA Update: Fixes white, yellow light, no onboarding key Issues
Bobber OTA Update: Fixes white, yellow light, no onboarding key Issues

July 19, 2022- Bobber pushed the latest OTA update at 08:00 PST today.

The following updates occurred in this OTA:

Bobber Firmware version updated to 1.0.3.2

The Helium Firmware version remains 2022.07.14.0_GA. This is a Bobber firmware only update. This release contains several fixes to resolve these issues:

  1. Constant white light despite having received the OTA
  2. Constant yellow light despite reboot and reset
  3. Bobber Diagnoser shows ‘No Onboarding Key Found’ despite reboot and reset

Bobber miners will automatically receive this update and hotspot owners do not need to intervene. If your hotspot issue remains after 24 hours of receiving this OTA, the fastest way to get it fixed is to submit a ticket here.

Correction to the change in my mining rewards since the update, the final bullet point should read:
    - Over the last 2 mo. my Bobcat 300 has been getting 0.23 +/- 0.06 HNT/day.

Since the OTA update this has dramatically reduced; July 19: 0.023 HNT. July 20: 0.037 HNT.*

This is a reduction by roughly a factor of 10 with no change other than the OTA update, my miner went from dramatically outperforming the network average day after day with considerable time, money, and effort on antenna placement to dropping to between one-half to one-third of the network average after the OTA update.

The previous daily rewards of ~0.23 HNT were extremely consistent, rarely if ever falling below this level.

I truly hope this is simply a very brief hiccup due to the entire fleet currently receiving the update. If not, this is a big problem.

    Disappointing.
Since receiving the OTA update, I have lost many of the features in the browser-IP API. The `/miner.json` page provides only “About” info on the hotspot, no longer shows relayed status, P2P, port status. Also missing `/status.json`, Speed Test is an inactive link, can no longer ping hotspot or view recent P2P list.

I know that the Helium firmware was not changed, only the hardware firmware, but I noticed the following negative results after receiving the update (Upstate NY, USA). Note that no changes have been made to the placement of my setup, no additional topographic/architectural/additional hotspots have been added in my vicinity:
    - All hotspots further than ~2.3km are no longer being witnessed or witnessing my Bobcat 300.
    - Over the last 2 mo. my Bobcat 300 has been receiving mining rewards roughly ~45-90 min. Since OTA update I only receive other comms/rewards every ~400-900 min.
    - Over the last 2 mo. my Bobcat 300 has been getting 0.23 +/- 0.06 HNT/day. Since the OTA update this has dramatically reduced; July 19: 0.23 HNT. July 20: 0.37 HNT.

Please follow-up via the email address provided—I would like to know if others have seen similar droppage to their coverage range and rewards and if this is what I can expect from this update.

    Thank you.

My miner says Miner (5s) now where it t used to report sync. Rebooting and Resetting have no affect. I’m seeing no mining activity for 23 hours now.

/status.json disappeared, /miner says “Not found”, and /miner.json has very little details unlike the past versions and there is no status label. What’s happening?
