July 14, 2021 - Bobcat pushed the latest mandatory helium blockchain release for snapshot fixes at 3 am PDT 7/14.
The following updates occurred in this OTA:
-
Miner firmware updated to 1.0.2.4.
-
Pushed Helium Hotspot Firmware to 2021.07.13.1
This mandatory helium firmware release addressed the following issues:
1. Fixed a bug in snapshot loading that caused some Hotspots that had loaded the last snap to stop syncing.
2. Fixed a rare issue with restarting that caused some Hotspots to halt until a corrupted cache file was manually deleted.
Some Bobcat miners have been riddled with the aforementioned bugs, but the OTA is expected to resolve these problems. Additionally, the 2021.07.13.1 also contains a much newer snapshot for block height 920126.

Users can check their Helium firmware version by running a diagnostic report through the Helium app. The Bobcat miner firmware update, however, is not visible on your app, but it is being pushed to all Bobcat miners.
Firmware update is scheduled to push in batches. All Bobcat fleet should receive the latest update within 24 hours.
Hotspots connected to Ethernet/Wifi will receive these updates automatically. No manual intervention is needed.
