Bobber App: Find the Numbers that Bring You $MOBILE
Bobber App: Find the Numbers that Bring You $MOBILE

There are currently 4,241 Helium 5G hotspots on the network. Whether it’s a Bobber 500 or Freedomfi 5G gateway, the Bobber App and its Bobber dashboard now support their remote monitoring, so that users can check to make sure their equipment continues to be qualified for daily MOBILE rewards distribution.

Find the Numbers that Count
After logging in and deep linking to a Helium wallet from the Bobber app, users can view the web dashboard either from the Bobber app or from bobber.cloud directly. These are the vital signs displayed for 5G hotspots:

1. Last Heartbeat

Shows the last time a radio heartbeat is reported.

2. Last Speedtest
Shows the last time a gateway speed test happened.

3. Download Speed
Shows the Megabits per second (Mbps) download speed your gateway provides to your radios. Per HIP53 requirement, in order to be eligible for rewards, a 5G hotspot must meet minimum backhaul Quality of Service (QoS) of 100Mbps on the downlink and 10Mbps on the uplink. This is yet to be implemented.

4. Upload Speed
Shows the Megabits per second (Mbps) upload speed your gateway provides to your radios. Per HIP53 requirement, in order to be eligible for rewards, a 5G hotspot must meet minimum backhaul Quality of Service (QoS) of 100Mbps on the downlink and 10Mbps on the uplink. This is yet to be implemented.

5. Latency
Shows delay. Maintains 50ms or less.

6. Maker Key
Shows if your 5G hotspot is from Freedomfi, Bobber 500, or from the pilot Bobber 500 batch (if you’re a pilot you get a medal)

Showing All Hotspots across Multiple Wallets

If you’d like to use the Bobber web dashboard to display all of your 5G hotspots across multiple wallets, here is how:
1. Log in to the Bobber App
2. Deep link each of your wallet once to the Bobber App

You should now be able to use the dashboard to view all 5G hotspots status. If you want the dashboard to show less, just delete it from the dashboard. If you want to add it back later, click on the hotspot once from inside the Bobber app’s hotspot manager tab, it will then reappear on the web dashboard.

Reminders:
1. By deep linking, you don’t reveal your Helium wallet seed phrase
2. Bobber App does not ask or need your seed phrase
3. You have to log in to the Bobber App and deep link first to use the web dashboard
4. You can access the dashboard at bobber.cloud if using a web browser

My OG Helium hotspot gave me notifications when I had connection problems. I stupidly thought the Bobber app would, too, but it didn’t when my hotspot was down for 3-4 days. That seems ridiculous that you don’t have notifications to alert when the Bobber 500 “needs attention”.

If you have multiple wallets, just need to link from your Bobber App, then click the Hotspots tab in your Bobber App. (IMPORTANT, it will sync all your hotspot to your Bobber account) Repeat this for all your wallets, then all your hotspots will be on the Dashboard.

Would be great to have the ability to add more than one wallet in the app. It’s annoying that I have to copy and paste hotspot IDs on a one by one basis for hotspots not in my main wallet.
